Liverpool airport parking

If you’re jetting off from Liverpool Airport any time soon, you’ll probably need to think about booking airport parking. There are a range of options to choose from if you need to park your car at Liverpool Airport, all with different benefits, price points and deals available.

Liverpool John Lennon Airport (or LPL) has five car parks in total. So whether you’re nipping away for a long weekend and looking for the convenience of valet parking, or travelling for two weeks on business and looking for cheap long-stay parking, you can rest assured that your car will be safe and secure whichever option you go for.

Types of parking at Liverpool Airport

The car park you use at Liverpool airport will depend on your budget, when you are travelling and how convenient the location of each is for your party. Generally speaking, the best prices on parking at Liverpool Airport are to be found by booking well in advance. The closer the car park is to the terminal building, the more expensive the rates per hour or day are likely to be.

Liverpool Airport Long Stay Parking

If your trip involves being away for more than a few days, the most cost-effective option is to leave your car in the long-stay car park. This car park is approximately a 4-5 minute walk from the terminal building.

You simply park your car in an available space, make sure you have all your luggage and travel documents, and walk the short distance to the terminal.

Long stay parking at LPL is pre-bookable, or alternatively, you can just drive up on the day of travel. The drive-up gate prices for long-stay parking start at £38 per day, however savings of up to 70% are available if you do book in advance.

The long-stay car park is completely secure. Accredited with ParkMark, it features:

  • Secure perimeter fencing
  • 24 hr CCTV security cameras
  • A well-lit parking area
  • Regular patrols by security teams

Benefits of long-stay parking at LPL

The long-stay car park is the cheapest of all parking options at LPL. Pre-booking secures the cheapest rate possible for your stay. As you keep your own keys, you can have peace of mind that your car will not be moved while you are away.

The long stay car park has ANPR cameras (automatic number plate recognition) for quick and easy entry and exit, and you will not have to use a shuttle bus service as the car park is only a short walk from the terminal.

Short Stay Parking

The short-stay parking is in the same building as the multi-storey car park at Liverpool Airport.

It is the recommended car park if you are arriving to pick up, or drop off passengers and only intend to stay a short time at the airport. The short stay carpark is right opposite the airport terminal.

After parking your car, you can walk to the terminal which takes approximately one minute.

Rates for the short stay car park start at £6 for 40 minutes. If you intend to stay for more than a day, it might be worth considering the long stay car park, which could save you money.

Family Fast Track Parking

For families travelling with small children, even unloading the car and getting to the terminal can make tensions rise. The Fast Track Parking at LPL offers a hassle-free solution.

Wider than average parking bays allow more room to manoeuvre child seats, luggage and unpack the car. The Fast Track parking is as close to the terminal as possible, with a covered walkway taking families to the dedicated Fast Track terminal entrance.

With Family Fast Track parking, up to 4 passes are included which allow your party to access the Fast Track security lanes. This can save valuable time once at the airport, allowing you to relax and get to your flight stress-free. Additional Fast Track security passes can be purchased for £4 each for larger families.

Family Fast Track parking must be pre-booked.

Benefits of Fast Track & Family Fast Track Parking

  • Extremely convenient location
  • More room to park and unload
  • Exclusive access to Fast Track security
  • Safe and secure parking, with 24-hour monitoring
  • Flexible bookings, so you can change your booking if needed.

Multi-storey car park

For those who are more concerned with convenience than budget, the multi-storey car park at Liverpool Airport is only a 1-minute walk from the terminal.

It is perfect for those on shorter trips, or if you would prefer to park your car undercover and away from the British weather.

Situated directly opposite the terminal, the multi-storey car park offers flexible bookings for stays longer than 24 hours. It is also possible to park here without pre-booking.

Drive-up rates start from £6.00 for 40 minutes, rising to £42 for 24 hours, however, if you book in advance expect to save up to 70% on these tariffs.

The car park does have a height restriction of 1.95m, so check carefully whether your vehicle is suitable before booking.

The multi-storey car park is ParkMark accredited and offers:

  • Covered parking
  • 24-hour security patrols
  • CCTV monitoring
  • ANPR controlled entry and exit
  • Convenient location close to the terminal

Fast Track Parking

For the most convenient start to your trip, Liverpool Airport offers Fast Track Parking. This is located just a 1-minute walk from the terminal building.

The Fast Track Parking area offers customers a dedicated entrance to the terminal, accessed via a covered walkway, so getting your holiday started could not be more simple.

With the Fast Track Parking, you are also able to access up to two passes for Fast Track security lanes, speeding up the process of getting to your flight.

This area is only available by pre-booking. This secures your space and allows you to arrive ready to travel stress-free.  With ANPR on arrival and a dedicated car park entrance away from the main area, the Fast Track parking also offers wider than average spaces to allow for unloading the car.

Pickup and Drop Off at Liverpool Airport

For picking up or dropping off passengers at LPL, there are two locations to choose from, Express Drop Off, and the newly instated Drop Off 2 car park.

Express Drop Off

Close to the terminal, the Express Drop Off area is a convenient location for very short stays.

Billed in 20-minute intervals with prices starting at £3, the Express Drop Off cannot be pre-booked or spaces reserved. Payment is made when you exit the area.

Drop Off 2 Car Park

For those on a budget looking to pick up or drop off at Liverpool Airport, the Drop Off 2 car park is free for the first 40 minutes.

It is a 5-10 minute walk from the terminal building, so you should allow this extra time when planning your journey to make sure you have plenty of time to catch your flight.

The Drop Off 2 car park cannot be booked in advance. If you stay longer than the free period, payment is made upon exit.
